James Timothy Sparks (AKA Pop-Pop), 70, went home to be with the Lord on July 3, 2026, at his home. He was born in Daviess County on April 22, 1956 to James Ruben and Carrie Alice Spence Sparks. Jim was a retired truck driver and newly employed by Daviess County Public Schools as a bus driver.
Jim is preceded in death by his father.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife, Denise; his children, Jamie and Josh Payne, Josh Sparks, Tristan and Sky; his step-sons, Jeremy and Natalie Richards and Josh Richards and his bonus daughter, Jodie Pew; grandchildren Ellie Sparks, Amber Sparks, Paisleigh and Kayleigh Payne, Elena and Athena Pew, Logan, Jaxon, Paige and Jasper Richards; his mother, Carrie Sparks; siblings, Mike and Sherry Sparks, Greg and Paula Sparks, Darrell and Sheree Sparks, Larry and Debra Sparks, Scott and Vicki Sparks, Gale and Jackie Basham, Alice Barnett and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
