The Northwest Neighborhood Alliance is inviting local youth to cool off and connect during its annual Super Sunday event, a free community swim night for youth ages 12-18 at Combest Pool.

The event is scheduled for July 12 from 5-7 p.m. at Combest Pool, 1530 McJohnson Avenue. Participants can enjoy free swimming, pizza, and music. The event is open to all youth ages 12-18 at no cost.

Sheila Crowe, a Northwest Neighborhood Alliance member, said Super Sunday is intended to give local teens a fun, welcoming place to spend a summer evening while building connections with one another.

“Super Sunday is all about creating a safe, positive environment where young people can come together, have fun, and simply enjoy being kids. We want every teen to know they’re welcome, and we hope they’ll leave with new friendships and great memories,” Crowe said.

Crowe said the Northwest Neighborhood Alliance hopes the event also strengthens relationships throughout the community.

“Our goal is to bring people together and continue building a stronger neighborhood. When our young people feel connected and supported, it benefits not only them but our entire community. We hope families will encourage their teens to come out and be part of the evening,” Crowe said.

Pizza for the event is being sponsored by Beverly’s Hearty Slice and River Valley Behavioral Health.
