Debra Darlene Poole, age 73 of McDaniels, KY, passed away July 9, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Hardinsburg, KY on September 5, 1952, daughter of the late Bob and Vitula Meador Drane. Debbie attended Stinnettsville Community Church and retired from the Breckinridge County Board of Education. She was employed for many years in various positions – Migrant Program, Alternative Education and Special Needs Classrooms.
She enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, collecting cookbooks and trying new recipes. She was an avid basketball fan and followed the Breckinridge County Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Ralph Drane, Larry Drane, Ova Drane, Lucille Sutton and Margaret Robinson.
Debbie is survived by her husband Randall Poole of McDaniels, KY
2 sons – Greg Poole (Rachelle) and Steve Poole (Amanda) of McDaniels, KY
9 grandchildren: Hayley, Shawni, Abbigail, Makayla and Branson Poole; Jordan and Austin Taul; Gavin and Lane Cook
2 great grandchildren: Janleigh Poole and Naomi Taul and Christabell Taul expected in September.
Sister: Geraldine Nix of Harned, KY
Many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 11 AM with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, 1 – 5 PM and Monday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
