Ronald Thomas Meade

Ronald T. Meade, 85, died on Friday July 10, 2026 in Owensboro while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. He was born December 2, 1940 in Lexington to the late Vete T. Meade and Dora I Meade. Ron was a member of Calvary Wesleyan Church/Wesleyan Christian Center where he was active for many years, serving at different times as Pastor, Assistant Pastor, Local Board of Administration Trustee, and Vice-Chairman, worship leader, treasurer, Sunday School teacher, construction worker, and wherever he saw a need. He was also a part of the First Free Will Baptist Church family for the past several years, where he also served as song leader. Ron had retired from the Daviess County Public School System after working many years as a teacher at Daviess County High School and Apollo High School. He was a graduate of Henry Clay High School in Lexington and Indiana Wesleyan University. He and his wife, Jan, served in the missionary field of Zambia, Africa in the years of 1971-1973. Returning to the states, they served in Pastoral ministry at Kingswood Wesleyan Church in Harned, KY before settling in Owensboro to teach and raise a family.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Janice S. Frase Meade, and his beloved sister, Diana Meade Hajdu.

Surviving are his three children, Ryan (Kate) Meade of Calhoun, Janelle Meade of Owensboro, and Jeff (Danielle) Meade of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Spencer Meade and Andrew Meade of Calhoun and Jaxon Meade of Owensboro; and many family, friends, and church family.

His passing into eternity came peacefully and he left knowing his Savior was waiting to take him home.

Funeral services will be Noon Saturday, July 18, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Committal services and burial will be Monday, July 20 in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville. Visitation will be from 3 PM until 7 PM Friday and from 10 AM until 11:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
