Mary Ellen (Dawson) Fulks, 68, of Owensboro, KY, passed away on July 11, 2026. She was born on January 24, 1958, to the late Daniel Wallace and Mary Curcio Dawson.

Mary Ellen dedicated 47 years of her life as a laboratory supervisor at Dart Polymer, where she was respected for her hard work, leadership, and unwavering commitment. A devoted member of St. Stephen Cathedral, her faith was an important part of her life and guided her in caring for others. Above all, Mary Ellen treasured her family and found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. She also looked forward to beach vacations, where she found peace and happiness surrounded by the people she loved most. Mary Ellen’s kindness, dedication, and deep love for her family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish Mary Ellen’s memory include her children, Amy Fulks (Andrew) Hurt, Sara (Josh) Foster, Bradley (Sarah) Fulks, and Brittany (Michael James) Butler; her grandchildren, Easton Fulks, Christian Fulks, Dawson Hurt, Weston Baker, Zeke Stewart, Siena Fulks, Bryson Fulks, Zoey Foster, Gavin Crawford, Zac Foster, Leighton Ling, Ty Butler, Ace & Bodhi Butler and Meadow Fulks; her siblings, Debbie (Gary) Marnhout and Sally Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her unborn baby, Mark Jr.; her best friend, Mae English; and her brother-in-law, Vaughan Jones.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory, with Father John Thomas presiding. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation, at the funeral home, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until time of services.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Jacob Hodskins for the exceptional care, compassion, and dedication he showed to Mary Ellen. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful nurses at The Mitchel Memorial Care Center for the love, compassion, and thoughtful gifts they showered upon Mary Ellen.
