The Women’s Guild of Owensboro is accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations whose programs promote the health and wellness of women and children in Owensboro and Daviess County.
Applications are due by Aug. 14, and grant recipients will be announced this fall after approval by the Women’s Guild membership.
Funding is made possible through proceeds from the organization’s annual Spring Luncheon, with all fundraiser proceeds reinvested into local charitable projects. Organizations whose work aligns with the Guild’s mission are encouraged to apply.
Women’s Guild President Louise Murdock Young said awarding grants is the organization’s most meaningful work each year.
“This is truly the most rewarding part of being a member of the Women’s Guild,” Young said. “After months of planning, seeing the impact of our annual Spring Luncheon come to life through these grant awards is incredibly meaningful.”
This year, the organization will award more than $36,500 to nonprofits serving Owensboro and Daviess County. Young said hearing directly from previous grant recipients reinforced the importance of the Guild’s fundraising efforts.
“One of the highlights of the past year was welcoming many of our grant recipients to our Christmas Luncheon, where they shared how Women’s Guild funding has helped expand programs, meet critical needs, and change lives in our community,” Young said. “Hearing those stories firsthand was a powerful reminder that every dollar raised through our Spring Luncheon becomes an investment in our neighbors. We are excited to begin reviewing this year’s applications and to continue supporting the organizations making such a meaningful difference.”
