Frankie “Shorty” Young, 82, of Owensboro, KY, passed away on July 11, 2026. He was born on December 10, 1943, to the late Roscoe and Mary Ruth (Freels) Young.
Shorty found happiness in the simple things—working in the yard, enjoying the outdoors, and making memories with his cherished grandchild, Carlee. Those moments brought him some of life’s greatest joy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Sherry Blevins, Mary Swinford, Michael (Gretchen) Young, and Lisa Loyd; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Connie Gibson and Joe Young.
In addition to his parents, Shorty was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
In accordance with Shorty’s wishes, there will be no services.
