Wanda Virginia (Timbrook) Grady, 93, of Owensboro, passed away on July 14, 2026. She was born on July 5, 1933 to the late Freeman and Cora Timbrook.
Wanda was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church where her quiet faith and kind spirit were evident throughout her life. She worked for several years at General Electric before she and her beloved husband, (Bob), welcomed their first child. From that moment on, Wanda devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, embracing the role of homemaker with love and grace as she raised her children and created a warm, welcoming home.
She was an active member of the Jubilee Homemakers Club and found great joy in traveling, coming within five states of visiting all 50. She instilled in her daughter, Mary Anne Grady a lifelong love of books and curiosity about the world. Mary Anne sent pictures from around the world of places that Wanda loved seeing. Wanda delighted in the beauty of flowers, took pride in tending to her garden and found great pleasure in reading. Wanda and her eldest son, Bill, often enjoyed visiting and sharing meals together with her daughter-in-law, Lisa, and two grandchildren. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved them unconditionally and celebrated each of them with boundless pride.
Along with her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. “Bob” Grady; siblings, Barbara Stafford, Ike Timbrook and Mike Timbrook’ brother-in-laws, Bobby Clark and Pete Stafford; and sister-in-law Joann Timbrook.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Bill (Lisa) Grady and Mary Anne Grady; her grandchildren James (Emily) Grady and Kallye (Ben Kiesel) Grady; and her siblings Jimmy (Liane) Timbrook, Mark (Susie) Timbrook, Jack (Fran) Timbrook, Lewis (Deanna) Timbrook and Tina Clark.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Sorgho Cemetery with Bro. Eugene Howard officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory.
