CENTRAL CITY – Estil “Eddie” Bryant, 69, of Central City, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2026, leaving an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family and countless friends.
Born on January 14, 1957, he lived life on his own terms— a bit stubborn, but with a heart as big as they come, and a love for his family that never wavered.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Estil and Nell Bryant; his sister, Edwina Humphrey; and his brothers, Jeff Bryant and Kevin Bryant.
He leaves behind the love of his life, Sherri Bryant, his devoted wife of 52 years. Their marriage was a beautiful example of enduring love. He is also survived by his children, Heather (David) Garrett, Nathan (Stephanie) Bryant, and Haley Bryant.
One of his greatest joys was being “The Icon” to his seven grandchildren: Brennen Garrett, Maddie Lee, Taylor Garrett, Chloe Garrett, Colin Garrett, Ella Bryant, and Bella Garrett. To them, he wasn’t just their Pappy—he was larger than life.
He is also survived by his sister, Betty (Johnnie) Forehand, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who he always considered family as well.
Eddie dedicated many years of his career to Kentucky Utilities, where he was known as a hardworking and dependable man.
He loved life and loved people. In his younger years, he was known for hosting some of the best parties around. Their home was filled with family, friends, laughter, and good times, and everyone knew they were always welcome. He never hesitated to lend a hand to someone in need, often putting others before himself without expecting anything in return.
Many weekends were spent on the river enjoying time on the boat, making memories with those he loved most. If he wasn’t on the water, there was a good chance you’d find him in his garage, sharing stories over a cold beer with his friends. Those simple moments were his happiest.
He could be stubborn and hard-headed, but beneath that tough exterior was one of the most loving, loyal, and generous men you could ever know. His family knew they were loved, not only by what he said but by the countless ways he showed up for them throughout his life.
Though his passing was sudden and leaves an unimaginable void, the love he had will continue to live on through the family and friends he cherished and the countless lives he touched. His grandchildren will forever remember “The Icon.”
Though he is no longer by our side, his love, laughter, and legacy will remain in our hearts forever.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Kevin Reed officiating. Burial in New Harmony Cemetery.
