
The family of Jeffrey Dale Wells, 60, of Reynolds Station, is deeply saddened to announce his passing on July 23, 2026. We are at peace knowing he is now with Jesus.
He was born on March 23, 1966 in Whiting, Indiana to Deloris and Denzel Wells.
Jeff lead a full and remarkable life. He was a two-time survivor of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. A Christian man who loved his family dearly, he proudly served as a deacon at Zion Baptist Church. Jeff loved sharing his testimony, both at church and with any strangers he met. He worked as an elevator operator at Owensboro Grain for many years, where he was lovingly known as the Outlaw Josey Wales. He was a generous man who never met a stranger, loved to tell jokes, and was his son Hunter’s best friend, daughter Kendra’s hero, and grandson Jensen’s Big Daddy.
He was preceded in death by his father Denzel Wells, brother Denzel Lynn Wells, and aunt Marjorie Payne.
He is survived by his mother Deloris Wells, his beloved wife of 37 years Nancy Wells, daughter Kendra Wells, son Hunter Wells, grandson Jensen Sands, sisters Connie Wells and Vickie (Ted) Goff, his in-laws (who he loved as his own) Joyce and John Roach, Walter Bullock, Karen Lindsey, Kevin Bullock, and best friend Terry Baxley.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Zion Baptist Church in Reynolds Station with burial to follow in Fordsville Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 12pm until service time at the church. Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville is in charge of arrangements.
