Apollo takes down Muhlenberg 10-0
The Apollo Eagles started 2020 in a big way as they used a mercy rule 10-0 victory to take down Muhlenberg County Tuesday in their season opener.
The Eagles had six players score and were led by Ed Wah’s hat trick.
Harrison Bowman and Houston Collins each added two goals while Eh Soe, Teranse Twihenya and John Mazariegos Perez each had one goal.
Apollo also had nine assists on its 10 goals scored. Collins had two assists to led the category for the Eagles.
Steven Teran and James Burke combined for the clean sheet.
Apollo plays at 7 p.m. Thursday at Owensboro Catholic in a 9th District battle.
Red Devils draw with Madisonville-North Hopkins
The Owensboro Red Devils hit the road for their season opener Tuesday as they took on 2nd Region power Madisonville-North Hopkins.
Despite being outshot and having only two corners to the Maroons eight, the Red Devils forced a 2-2 draw with MNHHS.
Noah Tucker and Jake Hunt had the goals for the Red Devils in the contest.
OHS has another big contest Thursday as it takes on Daviess County in a 9th District tilt.
