Apollo cruises by Butler County on Senior Night
The Apollo E-gals made short work of Butler County on Senior Night Thursday as they cruised to a 12-2 win at AHS.
Senior captains Alyssa Lawrence and Caitlyn Blandford led the way with three goals each for the E-gals.
Ella Hayden (2 goals), Emilee McFadden (goal), Marilyn Decker (goal), Kailee Queisenberry (goal) and Kaylee Hall (goal) each contributed to the Apollo offense.
JoHannah Hutchinson finished with five saves in goal.
Apollo is off until Wednesday when it hosts Daviess County.
Daviess County draws with Central Hardin on the road
The Daviess County Lady Panthers drew 1-1 with Central Hardin Thursday in their season opener.
DC had four shots on goal with Steeley Walker scored the lone goal for the Panthers as Mackenzie Sweatt had the assist.
Emma Patterson had 13 saves in goal.
The Panthers play Wednesday at Apollo.
Aces fall to Castle in season opener
The Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces hit the road Thursday for their season opener but came out on the losing side against Indiana power Castle.
Castle won the match 8-1 with Katie Riney scoring the lone goal for the Aces.
Catholic continues its tour through Indiana as they take on Evansville Reitz Saturday on the road.
Henderson County shuts out Owensboro
The Owensboro Lady Devils couldn’t continue their momentum from Monday’s win over Apollo as they fell on the road Thursday to Henderson County.
The Lady Colonels took down OHS 7-0 to put the Devils at 1-1 this season.
Chandler Worth finished with 18 saves.
Owensboro plays Saturday at home against Warren East.
