Local golf coaches and players were honored Friday with several locals grabbing All-2nd Region honors.
On the girls’ side, Apollo’s Macey Brown earled Region 2 Player of the Year after her KHSAA State Championship a few weeks ago. Jarrod Carter, Brown’s coach at Apollo, was named the Region 2 Coach of the Year as he shared the honor with Madisonville-North Hopkins’ Sam Westfall.
Brown, along with Daviess County’s Holly Holton and Owensboro Catholic’s Abby Bahnick, earned All-Region honors.
DC’s Lars King was named the Region 2 Boys’ Coach of the Year as Madisonville’s Jackson Hill and Webster County’s Grant Puckett shared Region 2 Player of the Year honors.
Catholic’s Jakob Wellman, along with Daviess County’s Grant Broughton, were each named to the All-Region Team.
