After missing out on the entire 2020 season because of COVID, the Owensboro RiverDawgs and the Ohio Valley League are ready for 2021 with the RiverDawgs releasing their schedule for the upcoming campaign.
The RiverDawgs will open the season June 4 on the road against the Dubois County Bombers with their home opening coming the next night against the Henderson Flash.
Owensboro manager Vic Evans said they ready to get underway.
“We are very excited with the new 2021 schedule,” he said. “First and foremost, with the addition of the Full Count Rythm to the OVL, it brings additional games to the schedule. We look forward to bringing not only great baseball to our fans but also some fun nights like Dinger Bat Night, Mike Trout Night and this season our Father/Child Home Run Derby on Father’s Day. We are hoping to provide a great fan experience at Independence Bank Field this 2021 Season.”
The Rhythm will play out of Hendersonville (Tenn.) and now give the OVL 10 teams for 2021 and beyond.
The RiverDawgs are seeking their third OVL Playoff Championship this season and their first since 2018.
