OMU and Owensboro’s Neighborhood Alliance Program are co-hosting an annual holiday lighting contest. Entries will be judged on originality, use of light, color, design, and movement.

The deadline for entries is Dec. 11. Judging will take place Dec. 14-15. Entries from homeowners and nominations from neighbors who appreciate the effort of making a delightful holiday display are both accepted.

The unique residential holiday lighting contest carries with it not only bragging rights, but a $250 OMU gift certificate and a lighted yard sign. In addition, the winner is honored by the Owensboro City Commission and Owensboro Utility Commission.

The contest aims to highlight those that use electricity to decorate their homes and yards, making the holiday season brighter for all of us to enjoy.

The contest is open to OMU customers within the city limits.
