COVID-19 update: 9 deaths, 171 cases, 165 recoveries reported for district

A total of 171 more cases of COVID-19 and 165 recoveries were confirmed Wednesday for the Green River District, including 92 cases and 85 recoveries in Daviess County. Coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Daviess (3), Henderson (3), McLean (2) and Ohio (1) counties. There will be no update Thursday or Friday.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (92), Hancock (6), Henderson (29), McLean (6), Ohio (33), Union (2), Webster (3)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (85), Hancock (9), Henderson (29), McLean (5), Ohio (10), Union (16), Webster (11)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 7,858
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 6,188 (79%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 54
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 497 (6%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 143

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 3,164 cases, 2,500 recovered, 18 current hospitalizations, 184 ever hospitalized, 48 deaths
  • Hancock County – 283 cases, 206 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 17 ever hospitalized, 11 deaths
  • Henderson County – 1,913 cases, 1,514 recovered, 13 current hospitalizations, 131 ever hospitalized, 39 deaths
  • McLean County – 370 cases, 264 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 29 ever hospitalized, 17 deaths
  • Ohio County – 919 cases, 709 recovered, 7 current hospitalizations, 63 ever hospitalized, 16 deaths
  • Union County – 687 cases, 588 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 38 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • Webster County – 522 cases, 407 recovered, 7 current hospitalizations, 35 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 45%
  • Female: 55%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 25 cases
  • 1-11 — 242 cases
  • 12-19 — 643 cases
  • 20-29 — 1,305 cases
  • 30-39 — 1,200 cases
  • 40-49 — 1,200 cases
  • 50-59 — 1,132 cases
  • 60-69 — 983 cases
  • 70-79 — 642 cases
  • 80+ — 479 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
