This is a story in a series on local high school athletes signing to continue their athletic and academic careers at the next level.

Daviess County senior lineman Blake Henry will be a Panther again next season as he’s taking his talents to Kentucky Wesleyan College.

Henry will play offensive line for KWC next season as he helped Daviess County gain more than 1,600 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns last season on the ground.

How does it feel to finally know where you’re going to attend next year and to make it official?

It feels great knowing where I will be attending and making it official. It’s been a long process and stressful at some times. So finding a home was a great feeling.

Why did you choose the school you did?

I chose KWC because of the great relationship I had with all the coaches. I also love the direction the program is moving in. I see big things happening at KWC in the future. They ended with a great recruiting class.

What stood out about the program and the coaches?

The coaches showed me how bad they wanted me through the whole process and made me feel very important to the team.

What are you going to study?

I’m undecided on a major but I’m thinking something in the medical field.

What are you going to miss about your team and school?

I will miss all the close relationships I had with all my teammates and coaches. I’ll miss playing under those Friday night lights with my brothers.
