Kentucky Wesleyan College will return to in-person classes and other activities on Tuesday after the campus went into quarantine due to an increased number of COVID-19 cases last week.

On March 15, KWC President Dr. Thomas Mitzel announced an immediate pause to all in-person classes and campus activities. The College was deemed Level 4 (red) on its own threat level indicator table.

Mitzel announced Monday the College moved back to Level 2 (yellow), citing “vigilance and concern for the safety of those around you.”

When in-person classes and activities were paused, there were 13 total active cases among students (11 residential, 2 commuter) and none among employees, according to the College’s COVID-19 tracking site. However, 87% of on-campus quarantine and isolations spaces were occupied.

Currently, there were 25 total active cases among students (17 residential, 8 commuter) and one among employees — with 83% of on-campus quarantine and isolations spaces were occupied.
