South Warren 6, Daviess County 5

South Warren took advantage of four Daviess County errors, handing the Lady Panthers a narrow 6-5 loss to open the season.

Millie Roberts and Jessie Daniels started the year off with big games at the plate. Roberts hit a home run and a double to go 2-2 with 2 RBIs. Daniels also hit a homer, going 3-4 with a pair of RBIs.

The Lady Panthers play their home opener today against Muhlenberg County.

Owensboro 17, University Heights Academy 2

The Owensboro Lady Devils grabbed a dominant season-opening win as they took down University Heights Academy 17-2 Monday in Hopkinsville.

Four Lady Devils had multiple hits with Kaylyn Sowders (2-2, 2 RBIs, 2 runs), Lindsey Gibson (3-4, 2 2B, 3 RBIs, 2 runs), Brooke Keller (2-3, 3B, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) and Morgan Turner (2-2, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) leading the way.

Addison Hill (3 runs), Sophie Moorman (3 runs) and Hadley Hughes (2 runs) also had solid days at the plate.

Keller was in the circle for the win as she pitched all four innings and allowed one earned run and three while while striking out three Lady Blazers.

Owensboro plays again today when they host Trinity.

Butler County 13, Trinity 3

The Trinity Lady Raiders dropped their season opener Monday when they hit the road and fell to the Butler County Lady Bears.

Butler County grabbed the 13-3 victory in six innings with Trinity grabbing just five hits in the loss.

Madison McDaniel and Katherine Hibbitt each went 2-3 and had a run for the Lady Raiders.

All three Trinity runs were unearned.

The Lady Raiders hit the field again today at Owensboro.
