Catholic’s Tim Riley to be inducted into Kentucky High School Basketball HOF

After a career that spans more than 30 years and is still going strong, Owensboro Catholic boy’s basketball coach Tim Riley will be inducted into the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame on July 24.

Riley is a member of the Class of 2021 and joins Frank Selvy (Corbin High School), Rodney Woods (Wayne County High School), Derek Anderson (Louisville Doss High School), Pat Tallent (Maytown High School), Clarence Wilson (Horse Cave High School), Bill Brown (Louisville Southern High School), Bob Mulcahy (Lafayette High School), Dirk Minniefield (Lafayette High School), Sara Beth Hammon (Rockcastle County High School), Barney Thweatt (Brewers High School), and Sarah Elliot Cannon (Jackson County High School).

Riley put the Warren Central Dragons program on the map before coming to Catholic as he won the 2004 KHSAA Sweet Sixteen when at the helm of WC.

In total, Riley has 13 district championships and 10 regional titles.

Riley will be inducted July 24 at the State Theatre in Elizabethtown.
