Windy Hollow Speedway is hosting a weekend full of new events, with The All-Star Monster Truck Tour making its first ever stop in Owensboro on Friday and Saturday and the first Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday.
Evelyn Miller, the Speedway’s operator, said recently that she was ecstatic to have the trucks return to town.
“Monster trucks were here in 1998 with a two-truck show and a ride-along truck,” she said. “So, for the first time in more than 20 years, they are back. But this time we will have a full show with multiple trucks and other action-packed events. I’m thrilled to be able to help facilitate such a great event for kids of all ages and their families.”
Owensboro’s Army Armstrong, who is a member of the National Monster Truck Hall of Fame, will attend the event Friday night.
The All-Star Monster Truck Tour is a national events-based organization that has stops from coast to coast. Unlike the trucks that have visited Owensboro in years past, tour organizers will be putting on a full show with four to six trucks, along with ATVs and motorcycles.
The ride-along truck will allow fans an additional ticketed opportunity to actually experience what it is like to be in a monster truck while the vehicle is in action. There will be events for the children and families taking place at the Speedway this weekend.

On Sunday, Windy Hollow’s Trunk-or-Treat will allow families to enjoy some Halloween festivities to begin the season. Set up begins at 4 p.m. and the event will go until 7 p.m.
Miller said that the event was started after Owensboro’s typical Halloween events were canceled due to the pandemic.
Families are encouraged to sign up with Windy Hollow so they know how many to expect, but sign-ups are not required.
“There’s nothing more fun than watching kids dressed up at Halloween,” Miller said.
Added to the fun, the best decorated trunk/booth will receive a Windy Hollow Restaurant gift certificate.
No events are requiring facial coverings.
