After months of anticipation, Owensboro’s first virtual reality (VR) arcade will be open to the public tonight at 5:00 p.m. The new Skillz VR Arcade, located in Towne Square Mall across from Hibbett Sports, is offering a soft opening to virtual reality players tonight before the grand opening next week.

For those that are new to the VR experience, employees will be on hand to help navigate inside the games and set players up on the simulators. Players can test their skills on one of two custom driving simulators which offer over 100 options of cars and tracks to choose from.

“The Extreme Machine allows folks to do anything from skydiving, paragliding, bungy jumping to motocross,” arcade owner, Brent Feher said. “The list goes on and on. It’s a really neat machine.”

In addition to the simulators, with its 10 x 10 room scales, complete with HTV Vive Pro headsets, Feher says the arcade offers “the best of the best in technology.”

Players can reserve their experience online with three different time and cost options available. A 15-minute experience is $15, a 30-minute experience is $25, and a full hour is $35.

Skillz VR Arcade is located in Towne Square Mall next to Spencer’s Gift Shop and across from Hibbett Sports. Normal operating hours will be Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., Friday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 12 a.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
