The Local Farmers team received a standing ovation and won over the crowd while being named Grand Champion at the eighth annual Owensboro Lip Sync Battle, which raised $239,570 for Puzzle Pieces on Saturday night.

The fundraiser, which supports the nonprofit’s services for individuals with disabilities, brought in its highest total yet, exceeding last year’s amount by $16,000. The event was presented by Integrated Therapy Solutions and featured 12 teams made up of 162 performers.

Sponsorships, team fundraising and ticket sales all contributed to the record-breaking amount.

“Our 2025 event has truly been the biggest and most epic one yet,” said Puzzle Pieces Executive Director Amanda Owen. “With the most teams, the most performers, the most tickets sold, the most viewers watching from home, and the most money raised in Lip Sync Battle history, this year has been nothing short of extraordinary. We could not do what we do without the incredible support from our sponsors, performers, and ticket buyers — each one plays a vital role in helping us support our clients.”

The Local Farmers team defeated Wright Implement in the Baird-sponsored Farming Battle, earning the top prize and fan recognition. Glenmore Distillery, which raised more than $51,000, was awarded the Community Piece Award for securing the highest donation total.

The event kicked off with special performances by emcees Chad Benefield and Mary Katherine Maddox, radio personalities from WBKR, along with Owen.

Additional battle results included:

Education Battle: Foust Elementary over Estes Elementary (sponsored by German American)

Power Battle: TTMA over Kenergy (sponsored by Valor Oil)

Sippers & Spitballers Battle: Local 196-T over Glenmore Distillery (sponsored by Weedman)

Puzzle Pieces serves more than 450 clients with disabilities across its main campus and satellite locations, focusing on life and vocational skills. The nonprofit also operates three residential homes, has helped nearly 130 clients gain employment, and offers the region’s only after-school and summer autism programs.
