The 2025 Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade brought holiday cheer to thousands of spectators downtown, and a panel of judges has selected this year’s top entries across several categories.
Judges were appointed by the parade committee and evaluated participants based on creativity, presentation, and holiday spirit.
The Owensboro Sanitation Department received the award for most effective use of lighting, earning high praise for its vibrant, festive display.
In the churches and church organizations category, City of David took first place, followed by Matthews Table in second and The Salvation Army in third.
Top honors in organizations and clubs went to River Valley Behavioral Health, with Santa’s Saws and DCPS Transportation placing second and third, respectively.
Among schools, school clubs, and scouts, Girl Scout Troop 1592 earned first place, while Girl Scout Troop 1490 and the Burns Middle School Dance Team rounded out the top three.
In the commercial, government, and municipalities category, Cargill claimed the top spot. Twin Rivers Nursing & Rehabilitation placed second, and FOSTER.KY.GOV was awarded third.
This year’s parade was livestreamed for viewers at home, with Owensboro Times serving as the official livestream provider. The broadcast was sponsored by River Valley Behavioral Health.
