Daviess County Public Library is hosting their annual Teen Art Contest this month. Submissions are being accepted now and will remain on display throughout the month, and the winner will be announced March 31.

DCPL is accepting submissions through March 25, and teens ages 13-18 can drop off their artwork at the library. Those who wish to participate can pick up an entry form at the library or at go.dcplibrary.org/artcontest.

All types of original artwork – paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, or multimedia pieces – are eligible for submission. A team of local artists will select the winning pieces.

“We want to celebrate the many talented young artists in Daviess County,” said teen librarian Sarah Jacobs. “By showcasing their work at the library, we give the community a chance to appreciate the hard work and creativity of our local teens.”

Jacobs said that last year, the library received more than 90 art submissions, and they are hoping to increase that number this year.

“We want to continue to grow the contest and get more teens involved,” she said. “Our goal is to reflect the true diversity and excellence of the teen artists in Daviess County.”

The annual teen art contest is one of many events that the library sponsors as part of its mission to serve as a community connector and help residents pursue lifelong learning.
