Owensboro Crime Stoppers will be selling pork burger and hot dog meals at the Frederica Street Kroger location today as part of a fundraiser for the organization.
Food will be served from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., or until they run out.
A pork burger meal with chips and a drink is $5, and a hot dog meal is $4.
Crime Stoppers is a community-based, non-profit organization that allows anyone with information about a crime to report it anonymously to law enforcement through the neutral organization.
In turn, “tipsters” can earn cash rewards by reporting a suspected crime. Crime Stoppers conducts fundraisers several times a year in order to have funds to award to helpful citizens.
Officer Andrew Boggess, Public Information Officer for the Owensboro Police Department, said Crime Stoppers works closely with OPD.
“We get a lot of assistance through Crime Stoppers, from real high-profile cases to lower-profile cases,” Boggess said. “Everything from shoplifters to tips on outstanding warrants. Crime Stoppers helps our jobs greatly.”
As the Crime Stoppers slogan states, “Together we can make a difference.”
