Tickets went on presale for the International Bluegrass Music Museum’s ROMP festival on Dec. 14. In the short time tickets were available for purchase at a discounted price, sales were outstanding, according to Carly Smith, Marketing Director for the International Bluegrass Museum.
“Sales went really well,” Smith said. “It’s always that way before Christmas.”
ROMP features a lineup of Bluegrass musicians from all over who will perform at Yellow Creek Park June 26-29 this upcoming year. Headliners for this year’s show include Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunderwith special guest Patty Loveless), The Del McCoury Band, Trampled by Turtles, Steve Earle & The Dukes, The Wood Brothers and more.
“Having a diverse lineup brings more people out — the lineup’s a big part of ROMP,” Smith said. “That’s why we do a wide variety of musicians. Throughout the year there will be price increases and lineup additions.”
Ticket prices have already increased since the first few days of sale, Smith said. Starting Saturday night, prices went up $20 per ticket.
For those wanting a free ROMP experience, Smith says applications for volunteers will be accepted in January, for those willing to volunteer each day at the festival. At least one shift must be worked during the busiest night time performance.
“We’ll make announcements about volunteer applications — you’ll get them if you’re on our email list, but we’ll announce it on social media too,” Smith said. “It’s a first come, first serve basis. We’re constantly getting applications.”
Right now, ticket prices range from $125 for those taking an RV for 24 hours to $400 for a VIP 4-Day Early Bird pass, which includes four days of free camping, catered meals, access to air-conditioned restrooms in the VIP area, and up close VIP seating. The ticket prices for this package will be $75 more if purchased at the gate.
Tickets are available to download and print once a purchase is made, and will be emailed to customers as well. No refunds will be given for purchased tickets.
