Just in time for engagement season, USA Today named Kentucky the third-most affordable state in which to get married. An upcoming bridal show can help Owensboro brides-to-be plan that special day, whatever their budget.

January 27 from noon to 4 p.m., the Owensboro Convention Center will be buzzing with wedding fever at the Your Perfect Day event.

Event producer Natalie Russell said it’s the sixth annual event at the venue, being held every year since its opening.

“Each bride that comes in is registered for prizes from the vendors,” she said. And with 50 vendors, there’s sure to be something for everyone.

Russell said brides will be able to meet with wedding planners and see flowers, DJs, photographers, registries, jewelry, dresses and even photo booths — allowing them to plan almost everything they need for the big day.

Wedding shows are a great way to start planning and stay in your budget. According to USA Today, even with Kentucky being one of the most affordable states in which to hold a wedding, a typical ceremony costs $18,000. The most expensive state is Hawaii, with an average cost of $39,000. Kentuckians spend an average of $1,104 on a dress and $2,994 on rings.

At least show admission won’t dent your budget. Tickets are available at the door for $3, and children 12 and under are admitted free.

Giveaways at the event include:
