“The Illusionists — Live from Broadway” will be at the RiverPark Center on April 22 at 7 p.m.

The show is full of magic tricks, death-defying stunts and acts of wonder. It has shattered box office records worldwide with its mind-blowing and jaw-breaking talents of six incredible illusionists.

Creative producer Simon Painter began his career as a classical violinist before becoming a producer for Cirque shows. In 2010, Painter joined with Australian producer and friend Tim Lawson to assemble “the greatest magical minds from a wide spectrum of disciplines.”

His production of The Illusionists has performed to record-breaking crowds in theatres and arenas across the globe including Australia, Mexico, Latin America, South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

In addition to “The Illusionists — Live from Broadway,” Simon’s current projects include “Le Noir (The Dark Side of Cirque)” and “Illusionists 2.0,” both of which are currently playing extensive international tours.

Faith Holley, Director of Development and Marketing at RiverPark Center said that RPC likes to include shows that are from Broadway but are not a musical and that a couple of seasons ago, an illusionist act performed and that audiences responded positively so they wanted to include one again.

Although the show is not billed as a kids show, kids love the show. It is a two-hour performance, so it is requested that kids can sit through it comfortably.

There are also bright lights and music that may be loud throughout the performance.

Tickets sales are strong but they are still tickets available, Holley said. They can be purchased on RiverPark Center’s website or by calling 270-687-2770.
