Musick Studios will present “We Got Game,” their 11th annual showcase on April 28 at the RiverPark Center at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

“It is two hours of non-stop dancing,” said Musick Studios owner Leanne Musick.

With over 300 dancers performing 52 dances, the audience will see family game night brought to life in the first half.

“Family game night has always been a big part of my life,” Musick said. “I wanted a way to connect families at home. I challenged my students and their families to play games, especially the one they are performing, at home and to embrace family time.”

Audience members will not be simply watching a show, Musick said, but will also be interactively participating with games and prizes throughout the show.

Over $5,000 will be awarded in dance scholarships to students who want to continue dance at Musick Studios. The money is donated by businesses in the community and students go through an application process to be considered, according to Musick.

Around 50 of the students performing in the showcase have not been on the RiverPark Center stage, Musick said, and at Tuesday night’s rehearsal, several of the veteran dancers took the time to give these students words of encouragement.

“The new dancers were excited to feel the support — it’s what we inspire to do,” Musick said.

The second part of the show features a variety of genres of dance that students learn throughout the year in dance classes.

Musick said the first show is almost sold out and there is limited availability for the second show, but they are hoping to see new faces in the audience.

Tickets are available at the RiverPark Center box office.
