Owensboro events: What’s still on for now, what’s cancelled for remainder of 2020

Though a handful of big events originally scheduled to take place in Owensboro over the second half of 2020 have already been cancelled, many are still on — at least for now. 

Officials met briefly late last week to discuss the calendar of events for the remainder of the year. Below is a list of some of the bigger events that remain on the schedule (all are subject to postponement, cancellation or other changes). A list of what’s been cancelled already for the months of July through September is also included.

Neither list is all-inclusive.

July 10-31 — Live on the Lawn (Owensboro Convention Center)

July 10 — Bless the Block (W. 5th St- W 7th St. & Elm St. to Orchard St.)

July 11-Oct. 31 — Live on the Banks (Smothers Park)

Aug. 1 — Downtown Cruise-In (downtown Owensboro)

Aug. 14-16 — Owensboro HydroFair (Smothers Park & English Park)

Aug. 15 — Owensboro HydroFair Bridge Run 5K/10K (Smothers Park & English Park)

Aug. 25 — Gold Star Families Memorial Ribbon Cutting (Smothers Park)

Aug. 28 — American Duchess docking (English Park)

Sept. 5 — Downtown Cruise-In (downtown)

Sept. 11 — Annual Patriot’s Day and Freedom Walk (OFD Station #1 & Shelton Memorial)

Sept. 11 — September 11 Remembrance Concert (Moreland Park)

Sept. 12 — Downtown ROMP (Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Museum)

Sept. 12 — Right to Life Annual Walk (Our Lady of Lourdes Church)
