The annual Right to Life banquet will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center on Tuesday. Executive Director Stacey Davis is thankful to be able to hold the event during a year that has been so difficult for many nonprofit organizations.

“I’m so grateful to have this event this year because many of our events have been canceled due to COVID,” Davis said. “Our organization was happy when the Convention Center could implement safety procedures and maintain social distancing guidelines so our event could occur.”

The event, which is the primary fundraiser for the organization, invites guest speakers to share a piece of their journey with attendees while they enjoy a sit-down dinner.

“Fundraising helps support education on the sanctity of life in our community throughout the year,” Davis said. “We lead American Heritage Girls for young ladies 5-18 years of age. And also new this year we have a Students for Life group starting at one of the local high schools. We provide all the materials for these avenues of education.”

With the new programs in place this year, Right to Life is reaching an expanded audience, something Davis considers a success in the middle of less-than-ideal circumstances during a pandemic.

“I have been the Executive Director for six years and each year I get more motivated to do more to spread the Pro-life mission,” Davis said.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50 each or $300 for a table.

“This year is extra important because we run solely on donations from our supporters. This is always our biggest event and I can’t wait to see everyone,” Davis said.
