In an abundance of caution during the COVID-19 pandemic, Puzzle Pieces announced Tuesday it will postpone its fourth annual Owensboro Lip Sync Battle, sponsored by Kentucky Legend.

Originally scheduled for January 2021, the event will now take place sometime in May, with an exact date and location to be announced in the near future.

Four battles have been locked in and will be revealed in the weeks to come.

The fifth battle will now be open to the public, with applications being accepted immediately by emailing [email protected].

“The Owensboro Lip Sync Battle is not only a fun event for us and for all that purchase a ticket, but it provides critical financial support for Puzzle Pieces for the year,” said Amanda Owen, Puzzle Pieces executive director. “Because of COVID, we have been forced to cancel six fundraisers in 2020, which has a direct effect on our client care and programming. We want Lip Sync Battle to happen, but we also need it to happen so we can continue to serve our 169 clients to the best of our abilities.”

The 2020 Lip Sync Battle saw a record-breaking turnout with more than 2,000 in attendance and raised $123,421.90 through sponsorships, team fundraising and ticket sales.
