After originally postponing their annual “Nutcracker” performance by two weeks, Owensboro Dance Theatre announced Saturday the play would be further delayed until Feb. 6-7. It is still set to be held at the RiverPark Center.

The performance was originally scheduled for Dec. 5-6 before initial rescheduling it for Dec. 19-20.

ODT made an official announcement about the second postponement on Facebook.

Officials said with the health and safety of all in mind, ODT decided the December dates would not be possible in the current situation.

Tickets that have already been purchased will be updated with the new dates (times remain the same).

Those still wishing to purchase tickets can call the RiverPark Center box office at 270-687-2770 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or visit the RPC website for more ticket information.

“We know that this wonderful cast of dancers can persevere and continue to work hard in rehearsals, to bring the magic of ‘The German American Bank Nutcracker’ to the stage,” the ODT statement reads. “We thank you for your patience and support as we continue to dance through these challenging times. ODT is grateful to dance for a community that continually supports the arts, its youth, and our mission of ‘changing lives … one dance at a time.'”
