The Daviess County Lions Club Fair has been cancelled for 2021, as announced on Facebook by event organizers Saturday morning. However, they will still have an Ag Fair July 21-23.

The Ag Fair will allow students to showcase their livestock, produce and crafts through 4-H and FFA. Contact Stacey Potts at the Daviess County Extension office at 270-685-8480 for more information about the Ag Fair.

Last year’s Lions Club Fair was also cancelled in 2020. Event organizers are hoping to return in 2022 for a “full-blown” fair.

Event organizers also posted the following statement on Facebook:

“We understand your frustration. Believe me, we are just as frustrated. The major events have to be secured by the first of the year and at that time we were all in the dark regarding the Covid19. We also have to have sponsors secured to be able to afford the attractions. We don’t feel it’s fair to ask for sponsorships from businesses that have been barely getting by for the past year. We don’t receive money from the city or county for the fair. It’s all sponsorships. Once again let’s plan on a big 2022.”
