OMG!Con

OMG!Con will again be a virtual event for 2021, though event organizers said they may put together merchandise boxes to send out and are looking into hosting a “smaller in-person gaming event” later this year.

The following was posted to the OMG!Con Facebook Page on Friday afternoon:

Hello, all you lovely OMG!Con attendees, enthusiasts, and friends!

We know that many of you were disappointed by our recent announcement that our in-person convention is once again being postponed due to the pandemic. We are still here plotting and scheming (just like supervillains) to try and find ways to lessen the sting as much as possible (very unlike supervillains).

So, in that spirit, we have a few announcements to make.

OMG!Conline will be returning again this year from June 11-13, the same days that we would have had the in-person con (so convenient)! We’re looking to make this one even better than last year. It will still be free to participate, and we’ll have streaming (including the return of the bizarrely compelling “Breakfast with John”), prize giveaways, and other programming throughout the weekend.

We also want to do something a little different to bring a bit of the con experience home to you. We’ll be putting together boxes with an assortment of OMG!Con merch to help enhance the con vibe. We’re still working out the details of exactly what will be included as well as the pricing, so more to come on this soon!

Finally, we’re also looking into hosting a smaller in-person gaming event later in the year. This won’t replace the regular con (your tickets from 2020 or 2021 will still carry over to 2022), but will be a fun way to get together because we miss you all! Obviously, this one is dependent on the continued progress of more vaccinations and fewer covid cases, but it does seem like we’re finally seeing a hint of light at the end of the tunnel, so we think we can make this happen.

We’ll have more announcements about the Conline event and the OMG!Box in the coming days and weeks, so stay tuned!
