Get Ghostly Mini-Con, a small-scale convention, is coming to downtown Owensboro today. It will feature mask-making instructions, cosplay contests for several genres, and a haunted tour, as well as local vendors.
Hosted by Ghostly Productions the new event will showcase vendors, panels, movie showings and cosplay contests.
Owner Payton Ford said anyone who is a fan of pop culture, horror, or cosplay should come by the mini-con.
“We have panels on everything from a step-by-step on how to make Halloween masks to our grand finale which is a haunted tour around downtown Owensboro,” he said.
A portion of St. Ann Street will be blocked off for vendors and attendees to hang out and shop around.
Prior to the store’s opening in September 2020, Ford said Ghostly Productions is different from any other Halloween Store or large-scale corporation.
“We offer retail items made by the leading manufacturers in the industry, but we specialize in custom creations,” Ford said. “We take pride in capturing a nostalgic vintage Halloween atmosphere. When you step into our store we want you to have the experience of stepping into a time machine to take you back to when Halloween was special.”
The store, located at 203 W. 4th St., will be open all day and will be showcasing some of their newest products.
