Daviess County Fiscal Court has announced the five agencies that will benefit from Christmas at Panther Creek in 2021. They were selected at random and will collectively receive half of the total event proceeds.

Those agencies are:

  • Kentucky State Police Professional Association
  • Right to Life of Owensboro
  • St. Benedict’s Homeless Shelter
  • WKWC 90.3 FM – Kentucky Wesleyan College
  • United Way of the Ohio Valley

“Last year was an outstanding success in collecting $50,000 to support our local non-profits,” Daviess County Parks Director Ross Leigh said Thursday. “We look forward to this year, opening Christmas at Panther Creek in 41 days.”

Launched in 2003, Christmas at Panther Creek consists of a 1.15-mile lighted driving tour with more than 50 displays and 700,000 lights. From Nov. 26 to Jan. 2, the display is open nightly at Panther Creek Park, encompassing the Christmas and New Year holidays.

These organizations will have volunteers at the gate, accepting the $5 vehicle admission.

“We were very fortunate to receive 37 applications this year,” Leigh added. “We assigned a number to each application, and the park board conducted a random drawing on Oct. 11 to select the five agencies for 2021.”
