Legacy Weekend

Dante Bowe — an American Christian worship singer, songwriter and worship pastor — is coming to Owensboro for Legacy Weekend this Friday-Sunday. The event, hosted by Legacy Owensboro Church (5333 Frederica St.) will also feature a pair of guest speakers during weekend services.

Legacy Owensboro pastors Jeff and Melissa Phillips are eager to bring this event to the city as an opportunity for people to come together.

“I’m excited that we can share with our community what God is doing in America in worship ministry,” Jeff Phillips said.

Bowe is a member of the Bethel Music collective and the Maverick City Music collective, and serves at Legacy Nashville. Pastor Lyle Phillips is from Nashville, and Pastor Jonathon Suber is an international speaker who will be speaking in the Saturday and Sunday services.

Bowe received three nominations for the 2021 GMA Dove Awards — New Artist of the Year, Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for Joyful, and Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year for Voice of God.

Tickets are $25 for the event and are on sale now here.

“While we know that some people in the community wondered about ticket sales, it is being used to reserve each attendant’s seat, just like at any other conference,” Melissa Phillips said.

Jeff Phillips says he is most excited about bringing special speakers and worship leaders to Owensboro.

“Our seating is limited and we wanted it to be a first come and first serve basis. We didn’t want to turn people away at the door because of seating and paying for the speakers and other conference expenses,” Phillips said.

Registration opens Friday night at 5:30 pm and the event starts at 6:30 pm. A purchased ticket covers the entire weekend.  Childcare will also be available throughout the weekend.

“We believe it is a fantastic opportunity for the Owensboro community to experience one of the premier worship leaders in the world today,” Melissa Phillips said. “We will all glean from the teachings and being in the presence of God in worship and services, which is much needed in this day and time — bringing hope and a positive future.”
