Valentine’s Day-themed Cork & Cuisine coming to Convention Center in February

The Owensboro Convention Center is hosting a Valentine’s Day-themed Cork & Cuisine — called “Love Notes” — at 6 p.m. Feb. 12. Guests can also add a special touch to the evening by purchasing a “Love Note,” which allows the guest to submit a short message and photo.

Attendees can indulge in a five-course Italian-themed meal, with each courses paired with wines and spirits. There will also be special giveaways, including a chance to take home one of the wines and spirits featured throughout the dinner.

“When we took a survey of some of our attendees and asked them what theme for a Cork & Cuisine they would like to see, Italian was hands-down the most popular response,” said Laura Alexander, General Manager of the Convention Center. “Plus, Italian food is synonymous with romance and love, tying in the Valentine’s theme.”

The Love Notes will run in a slideshow throughout the event, and the Love Note recipient will receive a rose at check-in. Love Notes are an additional $20 and can be purchased online at

Tickets are $75 per person or two for $130 and include all wines and spirits. Reservations must be made and the event is for those age 21 and older. Tickets are available online at or at the Owensboro Convention Center Box Office. Additional processing fees apply to all ticket sales.

First Course – Appetizers

  • Baked Brie and Cranberry-Melba “Passion” in A Phyllo Pillow Drizzled with Honey and Sprinkled with Sanding Sugar
  • Mozzarella Ball, Tomato, and Basil Skewer Drizzled with Olive Oil and Dusted with Cracked Black Pepper
  • “Written in your Soul” Beef Filet Bite on Toast with a Creamy Horseradish Sauce and Topped with Bleu Cheese Crumbles

Second Course – Soup

  • ‘Unforgettable” Cider and Onion Soup with Cheese and Apple Toasts

Third Course – Salad

  • Heart “beet” Salad  – Romaine Hearts, Hearts of Palm, Artichoke Hearts, Heart Shaped Beets, House Croutons with a Honey Champagne Vinaigrette

Fourth Course – Main

  • “Just Because” Bacon Wrapped Grilled Sirloin with a Red Wine Reduction Topped
  • Garlic and Herb Seasoned Jumbo Shrimp
  • “Beyond the Stars” Boursin Au Gratin Potatoes Topped with Seasoned Panko
  • “Romeo” Roasted Asparagus Spear Bundles with Herb Butter

Fifth Course – Dessert

  • “My Love” Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake with Raspberry Puree Garnished with a Chocolate Covered Oreo
  • Chocolate Cherry Nosh Love Bite
  • “You’re the Bomb” Chocolate Truffle Liquor Sprinkled with Chocolate Curls
