The 12th Annual Owensboro AIDS Walk will be held at noon Saturday at the Kentucky Wesleyan College Activity Center’s Panther Room (3000 Frederica Street). This year’s event is being held in the memory of Owensboro AIDS Walk founder Robbie Stone, who died in 2020 at the age of 66.

Participants will gather at 11:30 a.m. to make signs and prepare for the walk. Proceeds benefit low-income households impacted by HIV/AIDS in Owensboro-Daviess County and the surrounding counties.

As an early AIDS survivor, Stone was instrumental on the Governor’s Advisory Council and worked with others nationally and across Kentucky to establish confidential testing centers and provide safety information. He was the co-founder and led fundraising for the Owensboro AIDS Walk, and is an honorary lifetime board member of the Tri-State Alliance.

Donations can be made by sending a check to Owensboro AIDS Walk, P.O. Box 1591, Owensboro, KY 42302, or they can be sent via Venmo @OwensboroAIDSCoalition.
