The Owensboro Family YMCA has announced the return of the Bar-B-Q 5K, set for May 14 in downtown Owensboro. This race is in conjunction with the 2022 Bar-B-Q Block Party and the community is invited to run or walk.

There will be an 8 a.m. start time for competitive racers and an 8:15 a.m. start geared for non-competitive racers and families. T-shirts and official medals will be given to all participants.

German American Bank is once again the title sponsor for the event.

“We welcome the community to join us; funds raised will enable the YMCA to provide wellness opportunities for all through our financial assistance program,” said YMCA CEO John Alexander.

German American Market President, Kyle Aud, said they are excited to partner with the YMCA again for the 5K.

“It’s only natural that we’d support an event that directly supports their financial assistance program, especially with the impact it has in our community,” Aud said. “We are very happy to play a part in this endeavor and look forward to the race.”
