OMG!con returns this weekend for its first convention since 2019, and organizers are excited to be back at the Owensboro Convention Center. The event runs Friday through Sunday and will include an array of special guests and gaming as well as a celebration for the anime and pop culture community.

Online versions of the convention were held the last two years, but it wasn’t nearly the same feel or excitement according to OMG!Con Vice President John Bowen.

So, organizers are bringing back all the things that attendees love about the convention and picking up where they left off in 2019.

“Being able to come back now after 2 years, and still being a part of the team that’s putting this whole thing together is incredible. I expect to shed lots of tears when I get to see all of our all of our attendees back in one community again,” Bowen said.

Bowen said this year’s special guests include renowned voice actors Greg Ayres, Xander Mobus, Dawn Bennett, and Michael Sinterniklaas along with Canadian-based cosplayers Fighting Dreamers Production and more.

While OMG!con may appear to be mainly a manga and anime convention, Bowen said it is truly something for all pop culture lovers.

“We cater to all ages, shapes and sizes. So if you want to just have a maybe meet some like-minded people play some video games or support and just immerse yourself in the energy of our community then please come down to OMGcon,” Bowen said.

While the preregistration ticket deadline has already passed, tickets will be available at the door throughout the weekend starting at $55.
