BlOktoberfest returns to downtown Owensboro from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. In addition to food and games, the event features beers from several regional breweries and will be followed by a 2nd Street Silent Disco from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The event will consume most of 2nd Street with live music, contests, local vendors, artisans, and more. Organizers said the event would be family-friendly and free to attend.

“We feel like BlOktoberfest is a great event that places the focus on the existing downtown businesses while bringing in small, local vendors,” said John Condray, one of the event’s organizers. “Any profits from the event go to the nonprofit Singing for our Supper, which focuses on assisting out-of-work and struggling musicians and service-industry workers.”

Vendors this year include The Brew Bridge, Brasher’s Lil’ Nashville, The Pub on Second, Western KY Silent Disco, Goodwood Brewing + Spirits, Henderson Brewing Co., Hopkinsville Brewing Company, and Green River Distilling Co.

Good Grub Nation (formerly J’s Good Grub) and Lure Smoke Shack will be dishing out some fresh local flare.

“We’ll have a day full of music and events, including stein holding and brat eating contests,” Condray said. “We’ve invited four regionally local breweries and Green River Distillery to be a part of the fun.”
