The Owensboro Regional Farmers’ Market is closing its 2022 season on Saturday, featuring the third annual Holiday Market with 85 vendors. This final day also marks the farewell of Director Beck Glenn.

Glenn said the Holiday Market has been the highest-attended event of the past two seasons, setting record numbers each time — and this year they hope to cross another record. Throughout the year, she said, this market has continued to break numbers for their weekly attendance.

“Our attendance was probably up by about 15% this year over last year’s,” Glenn said. “We don’t do attendance estimates. We have a volunteer standing there with a clicker when someone walks in so we do it pretty accurately.”

The market also grew by about 12 new members since the start of the season.

The Holiday Market includes vendors from different areas, including metalworkers, apparel, holiday decorations and jewelry.

The usual vendors will still be in attendance, offering microgreens and other winter vegetables along with craft vendors.

Glenn said it is bittersweet to see everything come to a close for her, but this won’t be the final time that she helps the Market.

“I’m still going to be around on Saturdays. I’ve met so many great people there,” Glenn said. “It’s great to be at the end of the season. I will miss everybody. But I’ll be coming back as a volunteer next year so that I can see everybody again.”
