Outdoor ice rink opens for season this weekend

To help ring in the holiday season, the Energy on Ice outdoor skating rink will open this weekend. The 80×60-foot synthetic ice rink will be set up every weekend after through the end of the year, plus be open for the week leading up to Christmas.

Hours of operation will be as follows:

  • November 25-December 31
    • Fridays — 5-9 p.m.
    • Saturdays — 2-9 p.m.
    • Sundays — 2-7 p.m.
  • December 19-23
    • Monday-Thursday — 2-7 p.m.

The rink will have special theme skate nights each Saturday to add to the fun:

  • November 26 – Glow Party Skate: Wear glow party attire like white, neon, and fluorescent clothing with free glow merch for attendees.
  • December 3 – Fairytale and Superhero Night: Wear costumes and skate alongside Ice Queen and Spider Dude from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • December 10 – Santa’s Coming to Town.
  • December 17 – Game of Games: A night of musical chairs, stop music game and a chance to win door prizes.
  • December 31 – New Year’s Day skate and ring in the new year.

There is a $10 admission fee for those needing skates, or $8 for those who bring their own skates. All guests can receive $1 off their admission if they wear a hockey jersey or an ugly Christmas sweater. On Fridays, a couples special will be available where guests can purchase two tickets for $18. Sundays include a Family Special with four tickets for $36. All tickets will be sold at the rink.
