Kentucky Motorsports Week – a 9-day celebration with several events throughout the community – will kick off on Friday. In addition to a few events honoring the legacy of Nicky Hayden, the week also features car and bike shows, drag strip and dirt track races, and more.

“It’s going to be a great week celebrating our motorsports heritage, and it helps a worthy cause,” said Ben Skiadis, one of the event’s organizers. “We’re looking forward to an action-packed series of events and opportunities to celebrate our hometown legends.”

On Sunday, NASCAR champion Jeff Green will interact with fans at NASCAR Day while they tour several retired race cars. Due to a scheduling conflict, the Waltrip brothers will not be in attendance.

On June 9, at 7 p.m. at the Lure, Hayden fans can purchase Weller Special Reserve Single Barrel #69. The Lure will also have Henderson Brewing’s #69 Barrel-Aged Beer for sale.

Additionally, participating local businesses and organizations will be raising funds for the Nicky Hayden Foundation with a 6.9% “give back” to honor Hayden’s racing number 69. Click here for a list of participants.
