“It is a true testimony to the perseverance and dedication of these students and their teachers that such an accomplishment has been reached,” said Karen Alward, DCPS fine and performing arts coordinator. “This year, the All-State experience will be a virtual learning opportunity and a celebration of the high standard of musicianship that Kentucky’s music programs foster year after year.”

AHS band director Drew Tucker said, “We are very proud of our students and their dedication to musicianship and the band and orchestra programs at Apollo. These students continue to go above and beyond each day in order to improve themselves. Being selected among the top musicians in the state of Kentucky is a testament to their level of dedication.”

DCHS band director Nate Clark said, “We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of Emma and Jacob as they have continued to grow as musicians this school year. Though all of the DCHS band students are great students, those that make the All-State Band are true exemplars of work ethic, musical ability and the DCHS band tradition.”
