The RiverPark Center has announced a series of 10 “Interactive Film Experiences” — starting with “Elf” at 7 p.m. Saturday — that will give the audience the chance to throw their theatre etiquette out the window. Patrons are encouraged to sing, quote and dance along with the holiday classic, all while a shadow cast performs alongside the film.

RPC has already held a couple of IFEs, and they’ve got quite a lineup to start off the new year:

  • Elf (Jan. 2)
  • Greatest Showman (Jan. 8)
  • Frozen (Jan. 9)
  • The Wizard of Oz (Jan. 22)
  • The Wiz (Jan. 23)
  • Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone (Jan. 29)
  • School of Rock (Jan. 30)
  • Mean Girls (Feb. 13)
  • Moulin Rouge (Feb. 26)
  • Les Misérables (Feb. 27)

Tickets for ELF and the rest of the series can be purchased at RiverParkCenter.org or by calling the RPC Box Office at 270-687-2770. The movie will start at 7 p.m.

According to RPC, an Interactive Film Experience is a showing of a film with added interactive components. The RPC staff is “encouraging patrons to get messy with the goodie bag items, sing and dance along with the film, shout out favorite lines and clap and cheer whenever you want.”

Patrons will receive a goodie bag filled with items to throw, make noise with, and even eat at times during the film. The RPC Shadow Cast Crew will be on the stage letting the audience know when to use these items.

The Shadow Cast Crew is a group of local performers, dancers, and actors who assist with the performance, enhancing famous moments from the film.
