Summer Choir Camp

The Kentucky Youth Chorale has opened registration for their Summer Day Camp to be held July 26-30 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. daily. The camp is open to all singers age 8-16.

The camp is a program of the Institute For Young Musicians and provided by Kentucky Youth Chorale, led by Director Julie White.

Many of the KYC members participate in the day camp, as well as those who hope to someday become a member of the choir.

“It’s a great opportunity for children to experience the fun and joy of singing while they learn and hone their skills,” White said.

The camp is held at Third Baptist Church, and activities include vocal and physical warm-ups, choir rehearsals, and sectionals. Team building and visual arts are part of the program.

Lunch and all music materials are provided in the registration fee of $75.  Registration can be completed online at KentuckyYouthChorale.org. There is an early-bird registration discount for those who register before June 30, offering a savings of $25.

“We know that our KYC members and other children in Owensboro are missing the experiences that KYC offers and we are so pleased to be able to offer this program once again,” White said.
